U.S. issue M1 bayonet to fit the Garand rifle in its original plastic M3 scabbard. The blued blade is marked with the U.S. ‘flaming bomb’ ordnance mark and is stamped ENS E_US with serial number to the cross piece. The M3 scabbard is stamped E_US. Issued form 1942 onwards the M1 bayonet was shorter than its predecessors and was adopted to make the rifle a handier weapon to use in close quarter fighting. In very good condition with clean blade and good scabbard. Nice plastic grips and working latch. A very good example of a standard US bayonet used to the end of the Korean war and even in the early months of the conflict in Vietnam.
